Cooper's Positive Behavior Incentive System: "SPOT ON"

Cooper's school-wide expectations are: be respectful, be responsible and be safe. Throughout the school buildings, there are posters that describe how to be "respectful, responsible, and safe" in that particular area. As students demonstrate the 3 expectations throughout the school, they can be "spotted" by any Cooper staff member. When a class is "spotted" they earn a spot, which is placed on their classroom's Paw Poster. When classrooms, kindergarten through 5th grade, earn 50 spots, they will earn a class reward. When a Pre-K classroom earns 25 spot, they will earn a class reward. Examples of rewards include: a healthy class snack, no homework pass or a movie afternoon! 

Be Respectful

Classroom
  • Listen and follow directions.
  • Use appropriate voice level
  • Take care of all property

  • Respect other’s privacy.
  • Use a whisper voice (level 1).

Hallways
  • Travel with a silent voice (level 0) in between classes.
  • Silent greetings.

Lunchroom
  • Use good manners.
  • Listen to adults.
  • Use a partner talk voice (level 2).

Recess
  • Listen and follow directions.
  • Use a sharing speaker voice (Level 3).
  • Take care of all equipment.

  • Remember your purpose.

  • Keep hands and feet to yourself.
  • Wait your turn.
  • Four on the floor.
Bathroom
  • Walk at all times.
  • Flush.
  • Wash your hands.

Hallways
  • Walk at all times.
  • Single file lines.
  • Always walk on the right side of the hallway.

Recess
