Marcia Lopez joined the Cooper Dual Language Academy staff in 2001 as a fifth grade teacher making it her 22nd year as a Chicago Public School teacher. Ms. Lopez believes that her students have different learning preferences and abilities. Therefore, it is essential to provide auditory, visual or kinesthetic activities as well as differentiated instruction in the classroom. She works to create an environment of mutual respect, where students are invested in their own learning, so that they can reach their potential.
Ms. Lopez earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Masters of Arts in Reading from St. Xavier University. Ms. Lopez enjoys spending time with her family, working in her garden and traveling.
