This is Julie Hurckes’ fourth year teaching at Cooper Dual Language Academy. Ms. Hurckes is a member of the diverse learning team at Cooper, working as both a resource teacher and co-teacher. She loves working with all of her students and believes in every student’s ability to achieve great personal success. She hopes to inspire her students to love school and learning as much as she does.
Ms. Hurckes has her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology. She returned to school some years later to earn her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In her free time, Ms. Hurckes enjoys cooking, gardening, knitting, and spending time with her friends and family. She has two daughters: her oldest is a sophomore on the honor roll at her high school and her youngest just turned one and is enthusiastically learning to walk and talk.
