Mr. Joel Guzman

Joel Guzman has been employed at CPS for seventeen years. He has been working at Cooper Dual Language Academy since 2003.  This is his seventeenth year working for CPS and his thirteenth year as a SECA at Cooper.  Mr. Guzman believes that every student deserves a high quality education and is committed to the relentless pursuit of excellence for Cooper Dual Language Academy. He believes in a differentiated instructional approach to ensure every student reaches his/her potential.

Mr. Guzman has been working with Diverse Learning students and is very experienced in working with students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Mr. Guzman is certified to work for CPS through the Work Keys exam. In his free time, Mr. Guzman enjoys exploring Chicago, hiking, camping, reading and spending time with his two Yorkshire Terriers, Lucy and Rocco. ​
