Elizabeth Evertsen started teaching at Cooper in 2004 and has taught kindergarten, second, and currently third grade. Ms. Evertsen believes that all students need to be “lovingly pushed” to achieve their full potential both in academics and in character. She also believes that student-centered and small group instruction allows students to grow at the rate and speed that they need to be successful in school.
Ms. Evertsen received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Colorado and her teaching degree from San Diego State University. She moved back to her hometown of Chicago in 2004 to pursue teaching in Chicago Public Schools and has been at Cooper Dual Language Academy ever since. In her spare time, she likes to relax with her husband and two children, go hiking with family, read books, and watch Netflix movies.
