Ms. Claudia Barona

Ms. Claudia Barona has been working at Cooper Dual Language Academy for nineteen years. She has been teaching first grade for five years. Ms. Barona believes that having a strong academic foundation in the native language will facilitate to learning a second language and develop stronger reading skills.

Ms. Barona received her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education with Bilingual and ESL endorsements from Illinois State University. Ms. Barona grew up in Colombia and is the youngest of three children. She is married and has a teenage daughter. In her free time, she enjoys cleaning, watching HGTV and spending time with her family.
