Ana Alvarez joined the Cooper Dual Language Academy staff in 2004 as a third grade teacher. This is her twelfth year as a teacher at Cooper, and her thirteenth year as a Chicago Public School teacher. Being an educator and teaching students is Mrs. Alvarez’s passion. Mrs. Alvarez strongly believes that all children are capable of learning. Her goal is to develop independent learners who have a love of learning and become lifelong learners. Mrs. Alvarez believes that every student deserves a high quality education that challenges them to reach their full potential and be academic ready for college.
Mrs. Alvarez earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Northeastern Illinois University. She also earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. In her free time, Mrs. Alvarez loves to spend time with her husband and children and enjoys going to dinner, or watching a great movie. In her future plans, she wishes to visit Disneyland and have a good time with her family.
